MIMOS TECHNOLOGY APPLICATION

At MIMOS, we are currently exploring nanotechnology based sensor and photovoltaic cell devices. Our main focus in the nanotechnology research is the growth of nanostructures, which includes characterisation, testing and integrating these nanostructures into Nano/Micro Electronic Mechanical Systems (NEMS/MEMS).

WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME

  • Nanotechnology is known as the technology area that has the potential to create many new innovative materials and devices with a vast range of applications covering areas such as in medicine, electronics and energy production.
  • It offers innovative ways to create lighter, smaller, cheaper and faster devices that can do more things, by consuming less energy and using less raw materials.
  • Nanotechnology offers some really exciting innovations in environmentally friendly technologies by extracting renewable energy from the sun to the deterrence of pollution.
  • Nanotechnology leads to improved, environmentally-friendly batteries and “supercapacitors”.
  • Nanotechnology leads to development of new “nanocoatings” and “nano structured” surfaces that can effectively prevent dirt and other impurities.
